Empowering Young Digital Minds: SAS Foundation’s Cybersecurity Internship Program Reaches Over 80 Students Across Delhi
The digital world is evolving at lightning speed, and so are the challenges that come with it. In a time when children begin exploring technology before they even enter middle school, ensuring cyber awareness and safety has never been more critical. Recognizing this urgent need, the Swavalamban Avam Swabhimaan Foundation (SAS Foundation) launched its flagship IT Internship Program 2025, with a powerful focus on Cybersecurity for Students.
Over the weekend of 24th & 25th May, the internship marked another milestone—successfully completing Modules 3 & 4 for two dedicated cohorts of young learners. With the enthusiasm and support of schools, mentors, and parents, the program continues to break ground in building cyber-literate, future-ready youth.
👩💻👦 Who Are the Learners?
The internship is divided into two focused learning cohorts:
🔹 Classes 5th to 8th – Introducing cybersecurity through stories, gamified content, and beginner-friendly concepts.
🔹 Classes 9th to 12th – Delving deeper into the technical and ethical dimensions of cybersecurity, including digital footprints, cyber laws, and ethical hacking basics.
This age-appropriate approach ensures that students don’t just understand, but connect with the content in ways that are relevant to their digital behavior and learning styles.
📈 Record-Breaking Participation
Due to overwhelming interest and positive word-of-mouth, the SAS Foundation reopened limited enrolments last week, which pushed the total count of student interns past 80—representing 8 different schools from across Delhi.
This expansion isn’t just a number—it’s a sign of growing awareness among parents, educators, and students that cybersecurity is no longer optional; it’s essential.
The participating schools include a mix of government, private, and community-based institutions, emphasizing the Foundation’s commitment to inclusivity and equal digital opportunity.
📚 Learning That’s Structured & Strategic
The internship spans 5 weeks and is structured around 10 core modules. Each module is carefully curated to blend technical skills with real-world applications and ethical considerations.
Topics include:
- The CIA Triad (Confidentiality, Integrity, Availability)
- Digital footprints and online identity
- Social media risks and etiquette
- Password hygiene and two-factor authentication
- Email scams and phishing
- Cyberbullying and mental wellness
- Introduction to ethical hacking
- Cyber laws in India
- Fake news and misinformation
- Building a cyber awareness campaign
Each weekend, students engage in live, interactive sessions, followed by practical assignments that reinforce key learning outcomes.
✅ Module 3 & 4: Key Highlights from 24–25 May
