On 8th June 2025, SAS Foundation proudly conducted its 19th E-Waste Collection Drive—marking a significant milestone in our mission toward a cleaner, greener India. This was our second successful drive in the city of Bengaluru, and once again, the power of community came alive.
Led by the unwavering dedication of Mr. Arvind Saini, a committed resident volunteer, and Mr. Nilanjan, the RWA Secretary of the apartment complex, the event witnessed wholehearted participation from residents who were eager to contribute to a sustainable future. Shambhu from Attero, our recycling partner, played a vital role in educating and engaging the community.
📦 A Community That Cares: The Impact in Numbers
Together, we collected:
- 📱 32 Smartphones
- 💻 15 Laptops
- 📞 14 Feature Phones
- 🌀 5 Ceiling Fans
- 🖥️ 2 Desktops
- 🔌 2 Geysers
- 🖨️ 2 Printers
- 📺 2 Televisions
- 🍽️ 1 Microwave
- ⚡ 1 Stabilizer
- ♻️ ~78 Kgs of assorted electronic waste
This brings our total e-waste collection for 2025 to ~2917 Kgs, propelling us closer to our revised annual target of 3 Tonnes.
💬 Beyond Collection: Driving Awareness
Our drives are more than just about collecting electronic waste—they are about educating, empowering, and inspiring communities. Every conversation we had with a resident who gave away their old gadgets was an opportunity to spread awareness about the importance of responsible e-waste disposal and its impact on the environment and human health.
We are grateful to Mr. Nilanjan and the entire RWA team, whose support made this drive not only possible but deeply impactful.
🌍 Scaling the Mission
SAS Foundation has now expanded its e-waste awareness and collection initiatives across five cities: Delhi, Gurgaon, Faridabad, Mumbai, and Bengaluru. With over 2917 Kgs already collected and responsibly recycled this year, our momentum is strong—but we know this is just the beginning.
