Inspiring Testimonials: Voices from the SAS Foundation’s Internship Programs
“The experience changed how I see the world.”
“I never thought I’d be part of real change at this age.”
“This internship didn’t just teach me—it empowered me.”
These are just a few reflections shared by the interns of the Swavalamban Avam Swabhimaan Foundation (SAS Foundation)—young changemakers who participated in our unique and impactful internship programs.
In a world facing urgent environmental, technological, and social challenges, the SAS Foundation believes in one clear truth: the youth are not just the future—they are the now. With this vision, we launched two of our most popular and transformative programs—the Green Champion Internship and the IT Internship Program—to equip young minds with practical skills, civic responsibility, and a commitment to sustainability and digital innovation.
This article brings together the powerful stories, testimonials, and learnings of our interns—straight from their hearts.
Green Champion Internship: Creating Environmental Stewards
With the rising tide of e-waste and environmental degradation, the need for ecological awareness and action has never been greater. Through the Green Champion Internship, our interns learned about the critical importance of e-waste management, sustainability, and circular economy principles—not just through theory, but through hands-on tasks, awareness campaigns, and digital advocacy.
What Our Interns Had to Say
“Before this internship, I had no idea how harmful old gadgets could be if not disposed of properly. Now I’m teaching others in my community about e-waste and the importance of recycling!” — Ananya S., Class 12 Student
“Being part of awareness drives, designing posters, and working on real sustainability solutions made me realize that even small actions can lead to big impact.” — Kritik T., 1st-year B.Sc. Student
Our Green Champions became youth advocates—organizing campaigns in schools and colleges, spreading awareness online, and even helping families in their neighborhoods understand how to responsibly dispose of e-waste.
They explored the link between environment and health, learned how tech can both harm and help the planet, and engaged in brainstorming for sustainable solutions to local problems.
This wasn’t just an internship—it was a movement of eco-consciousness, driven by the energy of youth.
IT Internship: Building Digital Innovators
Alongside sustainability, the digital world is rapidly reshaping our lives. The SAS Foundation’s IT Internship Program was designed to empower students with practical, real-world digital skills—especially in website development, HTML/CSS, React.js, content writing, and project planning.
Hands-On Learning, Real Projects
Unlike traditional internships, our IT program gave interns the opportunity to work on actual websites—including development, design, and content optimization. Interns were mentored by professionals and guided through every step of the software development lifecycle.
“I used to think website development was too difficult for someone like me. But through this internship, I not only built web pages—I helped create the whole structure for an NGO site.” — Yash R., BCA Student
“This experience was my first taste of teamwork in tech. Learning React and working on a live project gave me confidence and helped me get shortlisted for a freelance role later!” — Megha D., MCA Student
Whether it was creating environmental awareness websites or contributing to SAS Foundation’s digital outreach, every intern walked away with a project in hand, confidence in mind, and purpose in heart.
Skills, Values, and Purpose—Beyond Certificates
Both programs were deeply value-driven. Our interns didn’t just gain technical skills—they learned about:
Teamwork and Collaboration: Working with peers across cities and states.
Time Management: Balancing internship work with academic schedules.
Communication Skills: Writing reports, creating social media content, and presenting ideas in online meets.
Leadership: Taking ownership of tasks and mentoring peers in group activities.
Moreover, all interns received personalized guidance, certificates of recognition, and many were also nominated for special awards for their exceptional contributions.
“The certificate is great, but what I cherish more is the confidence I gained and the people I met. We were all different, but united by a shared goal to do something meaningful.” — Simran K., BA Psychology Student
A Ripple Effect: Empowering Youth, Strengthening Communities
The most heartening part? Many of our interns didn’t stop when the internship ended.
They started eco-clubs in schools, built freelance portfolios, took part in college-level hackathons, and some even collaborated with SAS Foundation in future drives and webinars.
“I began this internship looking for experience. I ended it with a mission—to educate others about environmental justice.” — Rajat V., Green Champion Intern
This is the core of what SAS Foundation strives for—not just to teach, but to ignite a lasting impact that radiates outward into homes, schools, communities, and beyond.
What’s Next? Even Bigger Opportunities Await
With the overwhelming success and feedback from our intern community, the SAS Foundation is gearing up to launch the next phase of its internship programs—with new modules, more advanced tech projects, and collaborations with leading NGOs and CSR partners.
Whether it’s creating digital tools for social good, running youth-led awareness campaigns, or contributing to United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), we are committed to giving students a platform where learning meets impact.
Final Thoughts: Interns Turned Changemakers
Every story shared by our interns is a reminder that when given the right guidance and opportunity, youth can move mountains.
These testimonials are not just about internships—they’re about purpose, transformation, and awakening a new generation of digital-savvy, environmentally conscious, and socially responsible leaders.
We are proud of each and every intern who became part of our journey—and in turn, made SAS Foundation part of theirs.
