Empowering Digital Dreams: SAS Foundation Donates Laptops to ETASHA Society’s Youth Training Program
At Swavalamban Avam Swabhimaan Foundation (SAS Foundation), we believe that education is the cornerstone of empowerment, and in today’s world, digital literacy is no longer optional—it’s essential. That’s why we are proud to announce a significant step forward in our mission: the donation of 15 laptops to ETASHA Society’s Mangolpuri Center as part of their Vocational Training & Placement (VTP) program.
This initiative, generously supported by Tata Consultancy Services (TCS), aims to equip more than 350 underprivileged youth every year with vital IT skills and digital competence, opening doors to employment opportunities and self-reliance in the fast-evolving job market.
💻 Bridging the Digital Divide
In underserved communities, access to reliable digital infrastructure remains a challenge. Despite the rise of online learning and technology-driven workplaces, many talented and motivated young people lack the tools and exposure to compete on an equal footing.
Our latest collaboration with ETASHA Society, a respected NGO working towards skilling and livelihood generation, aims to narrow this gap. By providing laptops to their Mangolpuri Center in Delhi, we are empowering students to learn:
- Basic computer operations
- Internet usage and online communication
- Word processing, spreadsheets, and presentations
- Job search and application skills
- Digital etiquette and workplace tools
These aren’t just machines—they’re gateways to opportunity, growth, and confidence.
👥 A Partnership Rooted in Purpose
This initiative reflects the synergy between corporate social responsibility and grassroots implementation.
- Laptops donated by TCS represent a forward-thinking approach to resource reallocation, where technology finds renewed purpose in social change.
- ETASHA Society, with its strong ground presence and robust training framework, ensures that these tools directly benefit those who need them most.
- SAS Foundation, acting as a bridge and enabler, channels its energy into identifying impact areas, facilitating partnerships, and driving long-term outcomes.
Our Secretary, Dr. Nitin Saini, personally handed over the laptops to ETASHA’s leadership, symbolizing not just a transfer of assets but a commitment to digital empowerment and collective progress.
📈 Building on a Legacy of Impact
This is not our first collaboration with ETASHA Society. Last year, SAS Foundation facilitated the donation of 7 desktops to another ETASHA training center. Those desktops are now actively being used to support job-readiness modules, resume building sessions, and computer skills classes—reaching hundreds of students already.
By scaling up our support this year, we aim to:
- Double the outreach capacity of the centers
- Enable group learning and personalized practice
- Ensure uninterrupted digital access during training hours
This continuity in collaboration reflects our long-term vision for sustainable impact.
🌍 Why This Matters: Context and Urgency
India is home to the world’s largest youth population, but with it comes a pressing challenge—youth unemployment and underemployment. While industries increasingly demand digital proficiency, millions of young people from low-income communities are locked out of opportunity due to lack of access.
Our education and skilling programs are designed to address this challenge head-on by:
- Supporting digital inclusion and literacy
- Enhancing employability through practical training
- Fostering entrepreneurial thinking and adaptability
When a young person learns to use a computer effectively, they don’t just gain skills—they gain access to a better life.

✨ Final Thoughts: Digital Empowerment Is Social Justice
In today’s world, a laptop can mean the difference between unemployment and independence, between potential and progress. Through this initiative, we are not just distributing hardware—we are restoring hope, dignity, and dreams.
As we continue our mission with like-minded organizations like ETASHA Society and committed partners like TCS, we are reminded of a simple truth:
Change happens one device, one learner, and one step at a time.
Together, let’s ensure no dream is left behind in the digital age.
