Inspiring Testimonials: SAS Foundation’s Internship Program

Inspiring Testimonials: SAS Foundation’s Internship Programs Empowering Future Leaders 🌍💡

At Swavalamban Avam Swabhimaan Foundation (SAS Foundation), our mission is to empower youth through education, exposure, and action. Over the years, we have designed programs that bridge the gap between learning and doing, theory and practice, intention and impact. Today, we are proud to share something truly special — the video testimonials of our incredible interns who participated in various internship programs hosted by the Foundation. Their voices reflect not just what they learned, but how they grew, contributed, and discovered their purpose.

From the environmentally-focused Green Champion Internship to the tech-driven IT Internship, these programs provided our interns with real-world assignments, mentorship, and the opportunity to make meaningful contributions to society. Their journeys are powerful reminders that youth, when given the right platform, can become agents of change.

🌱 The Green Champion Internship: Building a Sustainable Tomorrow

The Green Champion Internship was developed to raise awareness about environmental sustainability, with a particular focus on e-waste management, climate change education, and community engagement. Interns took on roles that required them to understand local environmental challenges and design grassroots solutions — all while spreading awareness across schools, colleges, and digital platforms.

Interns organized and led e-waste collection drives, conducted surveys on community recycling habits, created awareness posters, and ran social media campaigns to engage wider audiences. For many, this was their first opportunity to step into a leadership role and speak up for the planet.

“Being a Green Champion changed how I look at everyday waste. I now understand the consequences of improper e-waste disposal and feel responsible to raise awareness wherever I go,” shared Megha, a passionate intern from Delhi.

“I conducted my first ever school session on sustainability and it was both challenging and fulfilling. Watching students respond to our message was unforgettable,” said Karan, an intern from Maharashtra.

Their video testimonials showcase the creativity and determination they brought to each assignment. Through these internships, they learned more than just facts about the environment—they learned how to drive change, one conversation at a time.

💻 The IT Internship: Tech for Good

On the digital front, the IT Internship gave young students the opportunity to gain hands-on experience with web development, content management, and digital outreach. Interns collaborated on real-time projects including maintaining the SAS Foundation website, improving user interfaces, optimizing blog content, and assisting in the development of digital communication tools.

What stood out was how quickly these interns turned their academic learning into practical solutions. They worked with content management systems like WordPress, learned the basics of HTML and CSS, and explored the use of analytics for tracking engagement. Many had never worked on a real platform before, and this internship gave them that vital first step.

“I always wanted to become a web developer but lacked direction. After joining SAS Foundation, I got to work on live websites and real user data. It gave me clarity and boosted my confidence,” said Riya, a second-year BCA student.

“I designed web pages, fixed bugs, and worked with seniors who were always there to guide me. It made me realize how important technology is in supporting social missions,” shared Arjun, an aspiring software engineer.

Through video testimonials, these interns not only highlighted their skill development but also how working for a cause made the experience even more meaningful.

🤝 Mentorship and Support: The Backbone of the Experience

One of the most praised aspects of the internship was the strong mentorship provided by SAS Foundation’s leadership team. Dr. Nitin Saini, Gaurav Agarwal, CSM, Jyotsana Sinha, and Dr. Jyoti Dongre Rao were instrumental in guiding interns through every step of the journey. Their expertise, encouragement, and regular feedback sessions helped interns improve their communication, time management, and project planning skills.

“Our mentors were always just a message away. Weekly check-ins, encouragement on our reports, and personalized suggestions made a huge difference in my learning,” said Tanya, an intern who contributed to both the green and IT projects.

Interns also got opportunities to attend virtual workshops, team huddles, and reflection sessions, which helped them build not just technical skills but also soft skills like leadership, public speaking, collaboration, and empathy.

🎓 Learning Beyond the Classroom

What sets SAS Foundation’s internship programs apart is their strong foundation in experiential learning. These are not conventional internships where interns simply shadow others or perform repetitive tasks. Instead, they are challenged to take initiative, design solutions, and execute plans with real outcomes.

Our interns worked on:

  • E-waste awareness posters and reels

  • School and college outreach presentations

  • Website page development and blog publishing

  • Impact report summaries

  • Field surveys and data collection

Every activity was purpose-driven and contributed directly to SAS Foundation’s wider goals of sustainability, education, and social responsibility.

🏫 Collaboration with Educational Institutions

We’re also deeply grateful for the support of institutions like BGS International Public School – India, which encouraged their students to take part in our programs. These collaborations ensure that students receive both academic guidance and social exposure, preparing them to become well-rounded individuals.

“As a school, it’s important for us to give students exposure beyond textbooks. Partnering with SAS Foundation helped our students understand real-world issues and develop civic responsibility,” said a school faculty member.

📣 The Impact of Testimonials

The video testimonials we’ve received serve as proof of the impact these internships have had. They are filled with authentic experiences, proud reflections, and powerful lessons. Each story is a source of inspiration for future interns, educators, and organizations working toward youth empowerment.

These stories aren’t just highlights — they are calls to action. They show us what’s possible when young minds are trusted, guided, and challenged.

🚀 What’s Next?

As we celebrate the success of these interns, we’re already preparing for the next round of our internship programs. The upcoming cycles will include:

  • Enhanced digital toolkits

  • Certification of Participation and Impact

  • New thematic focus areas (health, gender, mental well-being)

  • Special awards for top-performing interns

  • Intern showcases and networking opportunities

We believe that the energy, vision, and creativity of young people can solve some of the world’s most pressing problems—and our job is to provide them with the right tools and stage.
