What if students as young as 10 could explain what a password manager is, why it matters, and how encryption protects their data? That’s not just a possibility — it’s happening right now in SAS Foundation’s Cybersecurity Awareness Internship 2025–26.
On 7th & 8th June, our interns from Classes 5th to 8th explored Modules 7 & 8, building essential digital skills with guidance from our expert trainer Rajat Mangat (TCS).
🔐 Module 7: Password Managers – Your Digital Lockers
Students were introduced to the importance of using strong, unique passwords — and how remembering all of them isn’t practical. The solution? Password Managers.
They learned to:
- Understand password reuse risks
- Explore tools like Bitwarden and open-source alternatives
- Set strong master passwords using a mix of characters and phrases
- Secure their home Wi-Fi networks with best practices
💬 Students like Anika Kapoor, Keshav Tiwari, and Devansh Singh actively participated, even discussing tools like Flipper Zero and how it can be misused.
📝 Assignment: Create and test a Strong Password Checklist
🧠 Module 8: Key Cybersecurity Concepts
From animated discussions to interactive quizzes, students explored:
- 🔐 Encryption – Why WhatsApp messages are safe
- 🔍 Steganography – Hiding messages in images
- 🔥 Firewalls & Antivirus – How they block online threats
- 🧪 Computer Forensics – Tools investigators use to trace cybercrime
- 🧠 Quiz & activity: Match concepts to real-life cyber safety scenarios
🎯 Assignment: Identify one real-life use of encryption and how it prevents misuse
💡 Why It Matters
At an age where most are only learning to navigate social media, these students are already:
✔️ Analyzing digital risks ✔️ Exploring cybersecurity tools ✔️ Asking how to protect themselves and their families online
“Now I know why I shouldn’t share my password—even with my best friend.” — Class 6 Intern
🌱 Scaling Cyber Confidence from the Ground Up
