Green Champions Internship 2025: Igniting Change, One Student at a Time

“You don’t need to be an environmental scientist to save the planet — sometimes, all it takes is awareness, action, and a sense of responsibility.”

That’s the spirit behind the Green Champions Internship 2025, an initiative launched by Swavalamban Avam Swabhimaan Foundation (SAS Foundation) to empower young minds to combat one of the most urgent challenges of our time — e-waste.

🚀 The Beginning of a Green Revolution

On 15th June 2025, we officially kicked off the internship with a powerful online awareness session on “E-Waste and the Importance of Recycling”, led by Ms. Anshika Bhardwaj, a passionate sustainability expert from Attero — India’s pioneering e-waste recycling company.

More than just an informative session, it was a call to action. Over 100 students from various RWAs, schools, and communities attended — wide-eyed, engaged, and ready to make a difference.

💡 Why E-Waste?

Electronic waste is the fastest-growing waste stream globally. Yet, public awareness around it remains alarmingly low.

Through this internship, we aim to:

• Educate students about the environmental and health hazards of e-waste,
• Encourage them to become Green Champions by spreading awareness within their communities, and
• Foster a generation that is both tech-savvy and ecologically responsible.

👣 What’s Next?

Every student intern now has a mission: 

👉 Over the next 2 weeks, they will spread the message of safe e-waste recycling to their families, friends, and neighborhoods. 

👉 They will document their outreach efforts, share testimonials, and submit a report showcasing the impact they’ve created.

On 30th June, they will be awarded the Green Champion Impact Certificate — a recognition of their role as youth sustainability ambassadors.

This internship isn’t about titles or accolades — it’s about values. It’s about instilling in our youth the belief that every conversation counts, every action matters, and change always begins small.
