What if the next generation not only knew how to avoid phishing scams, but also understood India’s national cybersecurity frameworks?
That vision came to life on 14th & 15th June 2025, as the final two sessions of Swavalamban Avam Swabhimaan Foundation (SAS Foundation)’s Cybersecurity Awareness Internship for Classes 9–12 concluded — with students empowered, enlightened, and equipped to protect their digital lives and their nation.
📱 Module 9 – Mobile Device Security: Your Phone is Your Identity
In a world where smartphones are extensions of our lives, Kartik Ganotra (TCS) led a high-impact session on:
- Malware, spyware, and unsafe app downloads
- Risks of unsecured Wi-Fi and SIM-jacking
- Password managers, secure messaging apps, VPNs
- Rooting dangers and physical device protection
- Real-world case studies, like Jamtara-style scams
💬 Students like Anvi Singh, Nishkal, and Rudra Singh Gaming engaged deeply in discussions on data theft, screen lock vulnerabilities, and spyware bypassing encryption.
📝 Assignment: Conduct a risk assessment of teenage smartphone use and propose a mobile security policy for schools
🇮🇳 Module 10 – Cybersecurity in India: Policy, Programs & the Power of Awareness
The final session zoomed out — from personal protection to national preparedness. Students explored:
- National cybersecurity threats: phishing, ransomware, critical infra attacks
- Programs like CERT-In, Cyber Swachhta Kendra, I4C, CCPWC, and Digital India
- The Data Protection Act, cybersecurity for 5G, AI, IoT
- Institutions like NCIIPC that safeguard nuclear plants, dams, and power grids
- Citizen responsibilities and global partnerships
🎨 Assignment: Design an infographic featuring 5 key government-led cybersecurity programs and their impact
🎓 A Journey Ends, A Movement Begins
From crafting strong passwords to decoding national policy, students have now completed 10 modules over 5 weeks — each one a step toward becoming cyber-smart leaders.
“I’ll never install an app without checking its permissions again.” “Now I know who to report to — and why it matters.”
With over 80+ students from 8 Delhi schools, this internship wasn’t just educational — it was transformational.
