SAS Foundation Leads a Powerful Movement of Warmth: Successful Winter Clothes Collection Drive in Dwarka

As winter sets in across Delhi NCR, the dropping temperatures pose severe hardships for thousands of underprivileged families living in slums and temporary shelters. For many, the lack of warm clothing turns winter into a season of suffering. At SAS Foundation, our commitment has always been to ensure dignity, protection, and support for those most vulnerable. Continuing this mission, we launched our Winter Clothes Collection Drive 2026 across multiple residential societies in Dwarka—mobilizing communities to become a force for compassion and change.

This season, two major societies in Sector 23, DwarkaDwarka Dham Apartments (Mahajan Shree CGHS Ltd.) and Ramakrishna Apartments—opened their doors, hearts, and wardrobes to support this initiative. Through their generous participation, a total of 162 winter wear items were collected. After a detailed sorting and quality check process conducted by the SAS Foundation team, 146 items were identified as clean, usable, and worthy of distribution.

These include sweaters, jackets, pullovers, sweatshirts, shawls, children’s winter wear, caps, woollen socks, gloves, and more—garments that will bring real warmth and comfort to families facing extreme cold without adequate protection.

Building a Culture of Giving: Leadership That Inspires

This drive would not have been possible without the exemplary leadership of the RWAs:

  • Dwarka Dham Apartments (Mahajan Shree CGHS Ltd.)
Led by Sh. Bishan Dev (President) and Sh. Kuldeep Solanki (Vice President), the society demonstrated outstanding coordination and community engagement. Their proactive communication encouraged residents to participate wholeheartedly.
  • Ramakrishna Apartments
Under the guidance of Sh. Rahul Sahni (President), the society residents contributed generously and helped amplify the message of social responsibility.

The enthusiasm, responsiveness, and genuine care shown by residents reflect a powerful truth: community-led action can create lasting social impact when supported by strong leadership.

A Thoughtful, Sustainable Approach to Social Impact

What makes this winter clothes donation drive truly meaningful is its focus on sustainable giving. Instead of letting unused garments sit idle in wardrobes, residents chose to extend their life cycle by donating them to families in need.

This approach embodies three core values:

  1. Compassion – Sharing warmth with those who struggle to afford it.
  2. Sustainability – Reducing textile waste by reusing and recycling wearable garments.
  3. Community Empowerment – Encouraging societies to take collective responsibility for social welfare.

As a result, the drive not only helped the needy but also promoted responsible consumption and environmental consciousness—both key areas of SAS Foundation’s mission.

Next Steps: From Collection to Distribution

The SAS Foundation team will now begin the structured process of:

  • Segregating all collected clothes based on age, size, and type
  • Conducting a final inspection to ensure cleanliness and usability
  • Packaging clothes with dignity and hygiene standards
  • Partnering with volunteers and corporate teams (including future drives with TCS)
  • Distributing the winter garments to needy communities in RK Puram, Dwarka, and nearby low-income clusters

Our aim is not just to donate clothes but to ensure they reach the right beneficiaries—children, women, elderly citizens, and daily-wage families who face extreme difficulties during winter.

Strengthening Community Partnerships for Social Good

The success of this initiative highlights the growing power of citizen-driven social responsibility. When residential societies, RWAs, and NGOs collaborate, the impact multiplies. At SAS Foundation, we are committed to building long-term partnerships with communities, corporates, and volunteers to address essential societal needs.

We invite more residential complexes, schools, companies, and citizen groups in Dwarka and across Delhi NCR to partner with us for upcoming winter drives, clothes distribution campaigns, e-waste collection drives, health initiatives, and education programs.

Conclusion: A Warmer Winter, A Stronger Community

The Winter Clothes Collection Drive 2026 is more than an event—it is a movement of empathy. It proves that meaningful change begins with small acts of kindness in our own neighbourhoods. With every sweater, every jacket, and every woollen cap donated, we are not just giving clothes—we are giving warmth, security, and hope.

SAS Foundation extends heartfelt gratitude to all residents, RWA leaders, and volunteers who made this initiative a resounding success. Together, we continue to shape a world where compassion is not an occasional choice but a community culture.
