Collective Responsibility in Action — How Faridabad’s RWAs are Powering the E-Waste Revolution

On 12th October 2025, a quiet yet powerful movement unfolded in Sector 76, Faridabad, when the RWAs of BPTP Park Floor 2 and Palm Residency joined hands with the Swavalamban Avam Swabhimaan Foundation (SAS Foundation) to organize a community E-Waste Collection Drive. What emerged from this initiative was more than a pile of discarded electronics — it was a reflection of how communities can come together to redefine environmental responsibility.

The results speak volumes:
📱 39 Smartphones | ☎️ 14 Feature Phones | 💻 9 Laptops | 🖥️ 9 Desktops
🌬️ 4 Fans | 🍲 3 Microwaves | 📱 2 Tablets | 📺 2 LED TVs
🖨️ 2 Printers | ☎️ 1 Landline | ♻️ 136 kgs of miscellaneous e-waste

This single-day drive was not just about numbers. It was about awareness, collaboration, and the collective commitment to sustainability. Every resident who stepped forward to contribute played a part in preventing hazardous e-waste from ending up in landfills and harming the environment.

For SAS Foundation, this drive carried a deeper milestone — it marked the 25th e-waste collection drive overall and the 10th in Faridabad. Each drive adds momentum to a nationwide movement toward responsible recycling and circular economy practices.

A special acknowledgment goes to Mr. Shravan Dabi from Tata Consultancy Services, whose volunteer leadership and community engagement have been the driving force behind the e-waste awareness campaigns across Sector 76. His efforts embody the spirit of corporate volunteering — where professional responsibility extends seamlessly into social responsibility.

This success is also a testament to the visionary RWAs of both societies. Their willingness to engage, coordinate, and mobilize residents demonstrates what’s possible when communities view sustainability not as an obligation, but as a shared value. In a world where electronic consumption is soaring, such leadership at the local level becomes a beacon for others to emulate.

At SAS Foundation, we believe true environmental impact begins at the grassroots level. When every household becomes a responsible stakeholder, the journey from awareness to action becomes unstoppable.

The e-waste collected from this drive will now move through authorized recycling channels, ensuring that valuable materials are recovered and toxic components are safely disposed of — a small but meaningful step towards India’s larger sustainability goals.

As we celebrate this success, we are reminded that sustainability thrives where collaboration exists. Our heartfelt gratitude goes to the RWAs of BPTP Park Floor 2 and Palm Residency, the residents who participated wholeheartedly, and volunteers like Shravan Dabi, who continue to lead by example.

Together, we are proving that a cleaner, greener tomorrow isn’t just a vision — it’s a collective mission already in motion. 🌱♻️
