Festivals are not only about colors, sweets, and celebration. They are about inclusion, dignity, and shared happiness. This Holi, under Project SustainaBite, SAS Foundation ensured that Harish’s family could celebrate with the same warmth and joy as every other household.

We provided essential ration and grocery support, along with festive sweets, so that the spirit of Holi reached their home as well. The smile on Rani ji’s face and her heartfelt gratitude reminded us why community-led interventions matter.

But for us, support does not end with a festival.

Moving Beyond Relief: Creating Sustainable Livelihood

At SAS Foundation, we believe that true impact lies not just in temporary relief, but in enabling long-term sustenance. While immediate food security is critical, the real transformation begins when families become economically self-reliant.

Earlier, we had conceptualized a home-based tiffin service for Rani ji. The objective was clear:

• Create a steady source of income
• Build financial resilience
• Restore dignity through entrepreneurship
• Ensure long-term sustenance for the family

Due to unavoidable circumstances, the initiative could not take off at that time. However, our commitment remains unwavering. We are now preparing to re-initiate efforts toward establishing this micro-enterprise.

Once operational and stabilized, the business will be fully handed over to Rani ji, empowering her to independently manage and grow the venture for sustainable income generation.

This is not charity.

Strengthening Institutional Support

With our guidance, Harish’s family successfully obtained a Disability Card, which will enable them to access Disability Pension benefits. This milestone adds a layer of financial stability and ensures access to government support systems.
