Inclusion in Motion: SAS Foundation at ECHOES’26, SRCC

On 26th February 2026, SAS Foundation had the privilege of attending ECHOES’26, the inaugural flagship inclusive event hosted at Shri Ram College of Commerce (SRCC). Representing the Foundation, Mr. Gaurav Agarwal participated in this thoughtfully curated programme that brought together students, para-athletes, special schools, grassroots NGOs, educators, and changemakers under one roof.

ECHOES’26 was more than a campus event — it was a reflection of evolving youth consciousness around inclusion, dignity, and accessibility.

A Platform Celebrating Ability

The day began with an art competition and moved into a structured auditorium programme featuring keynote addresses, panel discussions, felicitation ceremonies, cultural performances by special schools, and inspiring speeches by honourable para-athletes. The adaptive fashion showcase and talent performances reinforced a powerful message: disability is not limitation — it is diversity.

Each segment of the agenda demonstrated intentionality. From lighting the ceremonial lamp to honouring para-athletes and hosting interactive sessions, the event embodied respect, recognition, and representation.

Youth Leadership Driving Inclusive Narratives

One of the most encouraging aspects of ECHOES’26 was the active leadership shown by college students. When young institutions create space for dialogue around Persons with Disabilities (PWD), they help normalize inclusion in mainstream discourse.

SAS Foundation believes that sustainable social change begins when youth move beyond awareness toward structured action. Platforms like ECHOES’26 serve as catalysts — connecting academia with community organisations and encouraging cross-sector collaboration.

Listening, Learning, and Building Bridges

This time, SAS Foundation participated as an attending organisation — engaging in meaningful conversations with student leaders and several NGOs working extensively for PWD communities. The networking interactions provided valuable insight into grassroots innovations, community-driven rehabilitation efforts, and inclusive education initiatives being implemented across regions.

Such dialogues strengthen the broader ecosystem of community development. They create opportunities for alignment, shared learning, and potential collaboration in the future.

Inclusion Is a Continuous Commitment

Inclusion is not a one-day event. It is a long-term commitment requiring systemic thinking, accessible infrastructure, policy alignment, entrepreneurship, and community ownership.

ECHOES’26 reinforced an important reminder: real progress emerges when intent meets structure. Awareness must translate into measurable impact. Conversations must evolve into scalable models. Collaboration must convert into sustained empowerment.

At SAS Foundation, our Community Development Initiatives remain focused on enabling ecosystems that empower individuals with dignity and self-reliance. We look forward to continued engagement with youth-led platforms and organisations committed to advancing accessibility and inclusive growth.

Together, we can build a society where ability is celebrated, opportunity is equitable, and empowerment is universal.
