SAS Foundation Welcomes Shruti Prajapati as Psychology Intern under the Community Mental Health, Youth Wellbeing & Applied Psychology Internship Program
What if the next breakthrough in mental wellbeing does not begin in a clinic—but in a classroom, a community, or a young mind willing to listen?
At Swavalamban Avam Swabhimaan Foundation (SAS Foundation), we believe meaningful change starts when passionate youth step forward to transform learning into action and empathy into impact.
Today, we are delighted to welcome Shruti Prajapati as a Psychology Intern under our Community Mental Health, Youth Wellbeing & Applied Psychology Internship Program.
Shruti is currently pursuing B.Sc. in Clinical Psychology at Amity University Haryana and joins us with a strong interest in mental health, psychological wellbeing, behavioural understanding, and community-based interventions.
Her journey reflects something larger than an internship—it reflects a growing movement of young changemakers who are choosing to understand people deeply before creating solutions for society.
Why Mental Health Conversations Need to Move Beyond Awareness
For years, mental health discussions have largely focused on awareness—and awareness is important.
But awareness alone is not enough.
Today’s world demands something more:
- Early understanding of behavioural patterns
- Preventive and community-based approaches
- Youth-driven wellbeing initiatives
- Safe spaces for emotional expression
- Data-informed and human-centered interventions
The challenge before society is not simply reducing distress—it is creating environments where individuals can thrive.
This is where psychology and community development intersect.
And this is where youth participation becomes transformative.
Creating a New Generation of Community-Oriented Psychology Leaders
At SAS Foundation, we see internships not as administrative requirements but as opportunities to build future leaders.
Our internship model is designed to move beyond observation and create meaningful engagement through:
Applied Learning
Understanding how psychology principles translate into real-world social impact.
Youth Wellbeing
Exploring emotional, behavioural, and developmental challenges affecting young people.
Research & Reflection
Encouraging evidence-based thinking and structured inquiry.
Community Engagement
Connecting academic knowledge with societal realities.
Ethical Social Impact
Building solutions rooted in empathy, responsibility, and inclusion.
Shruti’s internship journey will focus on understanding how psychology can contribute to healthier communities and stronger youth ecosystems.
The Power of Psychology Outside Clinical Walls
Psychology is often viewed only through the lens of therapy or diagnosis.
But psychology is much more.
Psychology helps us understand:
- Why people behave the way they do
- How communities influence wellbeing
- What motivates positive action
- How environments shape growth
- Why prevention matters as much as intervention
Community psychology opens possibilities for creating systems that support resilience, confidence, belonging, and purpose.
When young professionals engage with these ideas early, they become better researchers, practitioners, educators, and citizens.
Meet Shruti Prajapati: A Young Mind Committed to Learning and Impact
Shruti brings curiosity, compassion, and a strong desire to create meaningful change.
Her interests in:
- Mental health
- Psychological wellbeing
- Community interventions
- Practical exposure
- Personal and professional growth
make her an excellent addition to this learning journey.
Over the coming weeks, she will engage in structured assignments, reflection exercises, behavioural observation, awareness initiatives, and applied learning experiences designed to strengthen her understanding of psychology in community contexts.
This internship will emphasize learning, research, youth wellbeing, and social impact.
Why Youth Internships Matter More Than Ever
Young people are not just future leaders.
They are already shaping communities today.
When students receive opportunities to:
- explore real-world challenges,
- work with purpose,
- learn beyond academic boundaries, and
- contribute to social impact,
they become catalysts for sustainable transformation.
Internships are not simply resume-building exercises.
They are platforms where identity, responsibility, and leadership begin to take shape.
A Shared Journey of Learning and Impact
At SAS Foundation, every internship represents a partnership.
A partnership between knowledge and action.
Between aspiration and contribution.
Between individual growth and collective progress.
We welcome Shruti to the SAS Foundation family and look forward to supporting her journey as she explores how psychology can empower individuals, strengthen communities, and create meaningful social impact.
If more institutions, organizations, and young professionals come together to create experiential learning opportunities, the future of wellbeing will not only be healthier—it will be more human.
